Pelvic Floor Therapy in Weslaco, TX

Pelvic floor therapy is care for the muscles that support your bladder, bowel and core. At NeuroMotion Rehabilitation in Weslaco, occupational therapist Caila Summer Padilla, MSOT, OTR/L, sees adults for bladder leaks, pelvic pain, and pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Every session is private and one-on-one, in English or Spanish.

Is pelvic floor therapy for you?

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles at the base of your pelvis. They support your bladder, bowel and core, and they work every time you cough, lift, laugh or stand up. When they are weak, tight or not working together, everyday life can get harder.

People often come to us for:

  • Leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, lift or exercise
  • Sudden urges, or trouble making it to the bathroom in time
  • Pelvic pain
  • Changes during pregnancy and after giving birth

These problems are common, and they are not something you just have to live with. If one of them sounds familiar, an evaluation is a good place to start.

Why see an occupational therapist for pelvic health?

Occupational therapists with added training in pelvic health can provide pelvic floor therapy. Caila holds Herman & Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 training.

Occupational therapy looks at the whole task, not just the muscle. That means the moments in your day when symptoms show up: lifting a child, getting to the bathroom at work, exercising, or sleeping through the night. Your plan is built around those moments.
